A Sunday Letter from Ysabel
Hey friends,
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving (for those in the States)!
Today I want to keep this newsletter simple—something I'm calling Insight Corner with Ysabel (might change the name later, but for now let's keep it). Here's one insight from inside the cohort, and one shift that might support you too.
Week 4 just started today—money week in the current cohort—and I gave a long, value-packed 2.5-hour masterclass on brand partnerships, monetization, positioning, negotiation, and strategic thinking. This was one of my favorite sessions yet. I went deep on things I've learned over 5 years in this space—insights I only share inside GDT.
And a theme I've been diving deeper into is premium positioning—because premium isn't defined by price. It's a standard. An identity. A choice.
Premium brands don't compete on price. They compete on clarity.
Clarity of positioning. Clarity of value. Clarity of the transformation they deliver. Clarity of how they want to be perceived. Clarity of the feeling they give their audience, clients, and partners.
We used Sony cameras and Lululemon as examples. You don't buy Sony because it's cheap—you buy it because the quality makes you better. Same with Lululemon: it's about the identity and experience, not the price tag.
I've experienced this firsthand with the brands I've worked with over the years—many of them kept coming back, again and again, because they were genuinely wow'd by the work. And it wasn't by accident. It was the result of strategically positioning myself in the market, consistently delivering value, and producing results that went beyond expectations.
That's what premium brands do. They solve real problems. They think strategically. They deliver outcomes, not just deliverables. They create transformation, clarity, and identity.
Here are the 4 rules of premium brands:
Rule 1: Know Your Value
Rule 2: Price the transformation, not the deliverable
Rule 3: Low friction, high professionalism
Rule 4: Energetic alignment
Because honestly? Quality > quantity. Every time.
We also talked about investment and long-term thinking. When you're premium, it's no longer about the price—it's about ROI. It's not about saving; it's about growth.
Saving keeps your money where it is. Investing grows it.
Same with your health.
Same with your creativity.
Same with your brand.
So here's something timely after Black Friday:
Instead of chasing savings, chase investments. Savings don't change your life. Investments do.
If you bought things this weekend that were more instant gratification than long-term gain—that's okay. But maybe ask yourself:
"What am I ready to invest in that actually grows me?"
And here's something to leave you with: Take a moment to reflect—are you playing to be cheap, or are you playing to be the best? I don't know about you, but for me, it's best in class, all the way. I expect nothing less if it's coming from me. That's the standard I hold myself to—and the standard I encourage you to hold for your brand too.
Tomorrow is December, which means the January GDT cohort begins in about a month. If this message resonates and you're ready to invest in growing your brand, your clarity, and your money, book a call here.
I work closely with each person—1:1 attention, personalized support, real transformation. Because of that, I only take a limited number of people per cohort. Once spots are filled, they're filled until the next round.
We focus on depth, quality, and transformation—not being the cheapest option. We only work with people who hold themselves to that same standard. But you'll feel the ROI.
