Happy Lunar New Year 🤍
It’s been a while since I last wrote. I took a bit of a break from things, but I’m feeling refreshed and ready to lean into this new “Year of the Horse” energy - movement and momentum.
I wanted to use this newsletter to share some personal reflections, what I’ve been moving through behind the scenes, and what’s unfolding next inside Global Dream Team.
Hermit Mode → Letting Go
At the end of last year, I was deep in hermit mode.
I had stepped away from LA, away from distractions, and really locked in on building my business. For months it was wake up, work, build, repeat.
And for that season - it served its purpose.
But as January began, I could feel that grind energy following me into the new year.
One day I found myself in my closet, crying and praying for support - knowing I couldn’t keep operating in that pressure-cooker state.
Shortly after, a mentor reached out needing filming support for a project in Venice Beach. She flew me out, and I decided to stay in LA for a few weeks.
I originally planned to sublet a room in a creator house - but on my drive down I felt anxious. As extroverted as I am, I realized I needed quiet space, not stimulation.
Right as I had that realization, another friend texted saying he had a place open that felt much more aligned.
That moment reminded me:
The more I let go, the more things unfolded for me.
I had been in “push” mode for years - building, grinding, controlling outcomes.
But this season felt like an invitation to trust more… to receive more… to allow support in.
Remembering Myself Again
Those few weeks in LA gave me exactly what I needed.
I paused work after my shoot. I let myself wake up slowly. Spend time with friends. Watch sunsets. Hike. Explore cafes. Be in nature.
I tapped back into the free-spirited side of myself that makes me… me.

And I realized something:
Self-discovery doesn’t end.
Even after traveling the world, even after years of growth - it continues. Not always discovering… but remembering.
In a world full of stimulation and pressure, it’s easy to lose touch with ourselves.
And sometimes the biggest breakthroughs don’t come from doing more - they come from creating space.
Space to think.
Space to feel.
Space to realign.
A Different Way of Working
During that time, I started asking myself a question I hadn’t asked in years:
“What do I actually feel inspired to do today?”
Not what I should do.
Not what was on my to-do list.
But what would genuinely nourish me.
As builders, we say we own our time — but many of us are still living inside self-created pressure.
When I gave myself space to rest, to be in nature, to reconnect with friends - creativity came back naturally.
Business clarity returned.
Ideas flowed again.
My energy felt grounded instead of forced.
It reminded me that aligned work doesn’t feel chaotic or pressured.
It feels steady.
Peaceful.
Intentional.
Entering a Community Season
February has been a continuation of that energy.
I’ve been protecting my schedule more - working only on what feels aligned, and allowing my zone of genius to lead.
And after a season of hermit mode building last fall, I feel myself stepping back into a more social and community-centered chapter.
More connection.
More shared spaces.
More in-person energy.
Part of that shift is why I’ll be back in Southern California throughout March and April - focusing on in-person connection and hosting gatherings, events, and spaces for people building meaningful work to come together.
I’ll also be spending time in New York from May through mid-June - continuing to host gatherings and connect with the community there as well.
Because while solitude builds clarity…
community builds momentum.
And both matter.
If you’re interested in collaborating on gatherings, events, or creative experiences while I’m there, feel free to reach out - I’m always open to aligned partnerships.
Inside GDT Lately
It’s been powerful to witness what’s been unfolding inside our spaces in real time.
Recently inside the Collective we hosted:
The Dream Capital Workshop
Designing a dream-funded life - and identifying the assets you’re building now that will pay you for years to come.
Alongside that, we brought in a guest coach for:
Mindset & Strategy for Confident Pricing
Where we explored:
• The hidden dynamics behind pricing decisions
• A 5-step framework to raise & hold your rates
• Exercises revealing what your pricing is actually funding
• Powerful reframes to anchor the value you deliver
We’ve also been celebrating meaningful momentum inside the community.
One GDT member secured her first $6K client shortly after setting up her LLC in January. We’d been working closely on refining her offer and positioning - and once that clarity clicked, the results followed quickly.
It’s a reminder that when people are supported in the right environment, growth doesn’t need to feel forced.
What’s Unfolding Next
As this next chapter unfolds, the ecosystem around Global Dream Team is expanding in beautiful ways - from travel experiences and retreats, to accelerators, in-person gatherings across Southern California, and new community spaces opening up.
It’s been grounding to watch a vision I’ve held for years begin to take shape - not all at once, but piece by piece, in a way that feels sustainable.
The Next Cohort — March 8
I’ll be honest - the cohort model has stretched me.
But I’ve also witnessed profound transformation inside it.
People gaining clarity on what they’re building.
Finding confidence in their voice.
Moving forward with grounded momentum.
No longer building alone.
And after the season I personally just moved through - burnout, recalibration, realignment - I care even more deeply about creating spaces where people can grow without losing themselves in the process.
Because building meaningful work shouldn’t require self-abandonment.
It should feel aligned.
Supported.
Sustainable.
Because of upcoming travel in the second half of the year, I’m not sure how many more rounds I’ll run in this format.
So if it’s been on your mind - now would be the time.
This round is limited to 10 seats.
Onboarding begins March 1, including one-on-one conversations and coffee chats with me between now and February 28 to ground your direction before we begin.
If you’re curious about what shifts inside the space, I’ll be sharing more community wins and reflections this week.
If you’ve been feeling the pull to live more intentionally - to step more fully into your direction, your purpose, and the impact you want your work to make - you’re not alone.
The world needs more people building consciously, leading thoughtfully, and shaping the world around them.
But more than anything, I want to invite you into reflection too.
How do you want to grow this year?
What are you building?
What’s been holding you back?
If everything feels smooth… maybe it’s time to stretch.
If things feel hard… maybe it’s time to find support.
If any part of this resonated - whether it’s the cohort, the Collective, events, or simply wanting to be more involved - reply to this email.
I read every message personally 🤍
You don’t have to build alone.
In community,
Ysabel
